By Car

1) From London and Heathrow.

Take the M3 Southbound to Junction 7 and take the 3rd exit signposted Basingstoke.

Take the first left after 200 metres signposted Kingsworthy.

Continue for 10 miles until you reach a very obvious hump back bridge.

Take the first turning on the Right after the bridge (Lovedon Lane) and continue for a mile.

On the left is The King Charles Pub. Take the first left after this into Springvale Road.

Continue for just over half a mile and Crowded House (126A) is on the right immediately after a turning on the left which goes up a hill (don’t take this!)

2) From the Oxford, Birmingham, Wales and the North. 

North of Newbury join the A34 southbound (signposted Winchester). If on M4 at Junction 13, join the A34 southbound 

Continue for 20 miles on the A34 past the turning for the A303 and Sutton Scotney Service station, and three miles after the latter is a turning for Winchester. Leave the dual carriageway here and proceed straight over the Mini roundabout.

At the large roundabout 300 metres further on, take the very first exit named Down Farm Lane (Do NOT take the Winchester exit here!)

Follow the road for a mile until the T junction at the end.

Turn Left into Springvale Road. Crowded House is one mile on the left and about 200 metres after the second bridge you will go under on Springvale Road.

3) From Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth and the South.

Leave the M3 at junction 9. At the intersection/roundabout, take 2nd exit signposted Newbury, London and Kingsworthy. 

Enter a dual carriageway and go into right-hand lane and fork right following directions to Basingstoke (A33). 

Take the first turning left by the Cart and Horse public house. Then take the first right into Church Lane. Proceed to the end of this road (up and then down a hill) to the T junction. 

Turn right into Springvale Road, go under the railway bridge and proceed for approx 200 metres and Crowded House is on the left-hand side 

By Train

There are four trains an hour during the day and two to three at off peak times from London Waterloo taking between 50 minutes and 75 minutes depending where they stop.

There is also a very good service from Bournemouth and Southampton and from Portsmouth and Brighton.

Further afield there are three or four direct trains a day which do not go through London from Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh. 

Crowded House is five minutes drive from the station and complimentary transfers are generally available.

Buses and Taxis

There is a good bus service and taxi’s are plentiful.

By Air

London Heathrow is the nearest major airport (45minutes by road, M3 and M25 or A34 and M4) 

Southampton/Eastleigh Airport (15 minutes) now has a much increased service with flights from Scotland, Manchester, Channel Islands, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Milan, Frankfurt and most of the Spanish resorts.
